This project is under NDA- please reach out to learn more!

POSITION: Product Design Intern

TEAM: VR Ecosystems- Developer Tools

TIMELINE: June 2022- Sept 2022 (12 Weeks)

OUTPUT

Developed three high-fidelity prototypes that encompassed complete end to end flows for entire website. Each prototype had research based navigation and frameworks that would support the team as the website scaled up to support larger user bases.

Worked with cross functional teams and engineers within Reality Labs and within other Family of Apps platforms to ensure cohesive designs, research, process, and execution

Defined stretch goals after initial project was completed earlier than scheduled- built full research proposals and began recruitment processes for several stages of user testing.

WHAT I LEARNED

How to define timelines and multiple projects efficiently- important when working with cross functional partner timelines and larger project timelines.

How to build out user testing- I learned how to make a good research proposal and study and even got the chance to recruit!

I learned how to think long term in planning- at the early completion of my initial project I drafted several pages of insight, ideas, and next stages that were added to the team’s timeline.

TOOLS: Figma, Adobe, Protopie

About my experience!

The first thing I have to say is that I really really fell in love with California. As someone who grew up as a crunchy, National Park Aficionado and outdoorsy person- California really has amazing opportunities for someone who loves the outdoors and I would love to find myself back there someday!

As for my internship, I really enjoyed working at Reality Labs and being back amongst Metamates I hadn’t seen over the academic year. The Reality Labs has a real gung ho and innovative attitude that reminds me a lot of my experience at the MIT Media Labs.

Over the summer, I not only expanded my design skillset and learned things vital to my career but I also grew confidence in my own leadership, taking responsibility over my project, and finding avenues to make my work more impactful. After my initial project was completed within a shorter time frame than expected- I took the lead in initiating user testing, creating project roadmaps for the next few months, and working with cross functional teams to start proposals for changes they found useful outside of my project. I really feel as though I grew with my team in numerous ways!
